Some love stories begin in the most unpredictable ways. This one starts on the slopes of Mount Etna during a hike, when a young man trips over a piece of lava and accidentally falls against a young woman. It was an unexpected moment that marked the beginning of their meeting.

Time passes, their bond deepens, and that initial acquaintance blossoms into a love story. Yet, the man keeps the lava stone from that day, cherishing it as a memento of the moment their lives first crossed paths.

Many years later, now her husband, he comes to my workshop with that fragment and shares their story. He asks me to transform it into a special ring—a gift for the woman of his life.

As I listen to his tale, I realize that the stone is no mere rock fragment: it is the symbol of their meeting, a silent witness to a love born by chance and grown over time.

I decide to create a 3D scan of the original stone, using its shape as a template to design the ring. Every detail of the piece stems from that authentic fragment, turning a personal memory into a one-of-a-kind creation.

Crafted in gold, silver, or platinum, this ring holds far more than the value of the precious metal; it encapsulates a true story, an unexpected encounter, and the unbreakable bond between two people.
